Head of Commercial East Coast Expansion

Reporting into the General Manager of the East Coast markets and working closely with our Real Estate team and Account Executives in market, the Head of Commercial will be responsible for overseeing all customer-facing and real estate activities in our expansion markets. They will manage Company's footprint towards profitable growth by working with the world's leading customers, brokers and owners on deal structuring and managing relationships.

The Head of Commercial will play a critical role in defining Company's new market strategy. S/he will partner with leaders across the Real Estate, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Legal and People teams to expand Company's footprint in our fastest growing markets. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of a market accelerating towards flexibility and have a hand in reshaping it around customer needs as never before.

What You'll Do

  • Set commercial strategy, KPIs, hire and manage team of Account Executives and their associated pipelines and book of business
  • Help source, structure and execute agreements with customers and management agreements with landlords
  • Leverage existing relationships -- and build new ones -- with owners, brokers, and investors to identify and execute on opportunities emerging out of COVID
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Tech, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and accountability in deal activity
  • Serve as escalation point and provide coaching and development to other members of your team
  • Create and prepare regular reports to review performance with General Manager and the greater Management Team

Who You Are

You are a commercially-oriented, real estate knowledgeable person at heart. You're excited by the industry's movement toward flexibility and keen to leave your fingerprints on it. You're comfortable in front of a room and inside an investment model, and are biased to lead teams from the front. You have an eye toward scale and are excited about the opportunity to work at an incredibly fast paced company. You also have the following:

  • 6-10 years of experience in real estate deal transactions, with significant experience in office transactions
  • Breadth of knowledge in end-to-end deal negotiation
  • Analytically-savvy with experience in revenue-sharing deals and joint ventures
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams to high performance and manage complex negotiations
  • Quick, lateral thinking that allows you to operate in an agile high growth environment
  • Self-starter with tenacious attitude, intellectual curiosity and integrity
  • Based on the east coast (preferably New York, Toronto, Boston or DC) and open to travel
